Entel Chile
Entel Chile is one of the country’s leading telecommunications companies, with thousands of operational sites distributed throughout the country. It is listed on the Santiago Stock Exchange and regulated by the Financial Market Commission (CMF), which means that its carbon footprint is a central component of its annual Integrated Report and requires a high level of methodological rigor and consistency year after year.
Accounting the carbon footprint of an organization of this magnitude is a highly complex technical and organizational endeavor. It requires coordinating data collection from thousands of sites nationwide, consolidating information from dozens of internal and external sources, and ensuring the traceability and quality of each data point according to auditable criteria. Since 2018, we have been working alongside Entel Chile, progressively expanding the coverage of its inventory to include all its Scope 1, 2, and 3 sources, and consistently improving the quality of the reported data. Initial planning, the systematization of data collection and quality control processes, and quarterly calculations that identify gaps before the annual closing have been key to meeting committed deadlines.
In addition to the annual acounting and technical report, we support Entel Chile in its external verification audit processes and collaborate on its emissions reduction strategy, backing its commitment to reduce its Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42% by 2030, compared to its 2022 baseline year.
