CSRD Reporting

CRSD Reporting

The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) is a game-changer in the world of corporate transparency.
It’s an EU regulation that requires companies to report on their sustainability practices, giving stakeholders a clear view of how businesses impact the environment, society, and governance.

Replacing the Non-Financial Reporting Directive (NFRD), the CSRD expands the scope and depth of reporting, ensuring that businesses provide detailed, actionable insights into their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) activities.
This isn’t just about checking boxes—it’s about showing the world that your company is serious about sustainability.

Who Needs to Comply with CSRD?

The CSRD expands its reach to include a wider range of businesses, including:

  • Large companies that meet at least two of the following:
    • More than 250 employees
    • More than €40 million in turnover
    • A balance sheet total of more than €20 million
  • Listed SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) on regulated markets.
  • Non-EU companies with significant operations in the EU.

If your company fits these criteria, you’ll need to comply with the CSRD and start preparing detailed sustainability reports.

Timeline for CSRD Compliance

The CSRD is being implemented in phases to give companies time to prepare for compliance. Here’s the timeline:

  • 2025: Reporting begins for large public interest companies already subject to the Non-Financial Reporting Directive (NFRD), covering data from the 2024 financial year.

  • 2026: Reporting starts for other large companies that meet the above criteria, covering data from the 2025 financial year.

  • 2027: Listed SMEs, as well as non-EU companies with significant operations in the EU, will be required to start reporting, covering data from the 2026 financial year.

  • 2029: Final deadline for non-EU companies meeting the CSRD’s criteria, covering data from the 2028 financial year.

If your company is based outside the EU but meets the revenue and turnover criteria within EU markets, start planning for CSRD compliance now to ensure timely reporting. This phased approach allows businesses, especially those outside the EU, to adapt to the directive and prepare sustainability reports that meet CSRD standards.

Why CSRD Reporting Matters for Your Business

Staying Ahead of Regulatory Requirements

Complying with CSRD is mandatory for many businesses operating in the EU.
Failure to meet these requirements can lead to penalties and damage your company’s reputation.
Staying compliant ensures you avoid legal risks while demonstrating your commitment to climate action and sustainability.

Improving Corporate Transparency and ESG Performance

CSRD reporting goes beyond legal obligations—it’s about creating transparency around your company’s sustainability efforts.
With detailed ESG reports, you’ll show investors, customers, and partners that you’re serious about addressing climate risks, improving social responsibility, and adhering to good governance.

Accurate CSRD reports can:

  • Improve your company’s ESG ratings.
  • Build trust with consumers and investors.

Position your business as a leader in corporate sustainability.

Our Process for CSRD Reporting

At Vim Aeris, we understand that CSRD reporting can feel complex and overwhelming.
Our goal is to make compliance straightforward while helping you leverage sustainability for long-term growth.

Here’s how we do it:

Step 1: Initial CSRD Compliance Assessment

First things first: we assess your company’s CSRD compliance requirements.
We’ll determine which specific disclosure requirements apply based on your company’s size, industry, and location.

This ensures that your reporting is tailored to meet both CSRD regulations and your business goals.

Step 2: Data Collection and Sustainability Analysis

Next, we gather all the relevant data.
Our Excel-based tools make it simple to collect information from across your operations.

Here’s what we collect:

  • GHG emissions data from energy usage, transportation, and manufacturing.
  • Environmental impact data like water usage, waste management, and biodiversity efforts.
  • Social responsibility efforts, including labour practices, diversity initiatives, and supply chain management.

This step gives us the raw data we need to build your CSRD report.

Step 3: Sustainability Reporting and Disclosures

Once we’ve collected the data, we prepare your CSRD report in line with EU guidelines.
This includes:

  • Climate-related financial disclosures, detailing how climate risks may affect your business operations.
  • Your company’s emission reduction targets and sustainability goals.
  • ESG performance, covering environmental, social, and governance aspects.

Our reports are audit-ready, ensuring full compliance with CSRD standards and giving you the transparency needed to engage stakeholders effectively.

Step 4: Submission and Ongoing Compliance Support

Finally, we help you submit your CSRD report in compliance with EU deadlines.
But our support doesn’t stop there—we provide ongoing compliance support, ensuring that your business remains compliant as regulations evolve and new sustainability goals emerge.

Whether you need help with future reports or adapting to updated guidelines, Vim Aeris will keep your business on track.
